Horse Riding in the Tabernas Desert in Pictures

The Tabernas desert is a beautifully haunting place, the only desert in Europe and absolutely unique. A fantastic way to discover its secrets is by exploring its interior on horseback.

This two-hour ride is designed for riders of all abilities, and takes us along the tracks and ramblas into the desert. Along the way we make regular stops to marvel at the stunning scenery and to hear fascinating insights into the geology, history, fauna and flora of the area, as well as some of its rich cinematographic background.

A fantastic chap to talk to. The route was easy going  a bit of climbing that much 75 year old body could cope with. At one point I thought I should have brought a machete but this was all part of the adventure. Paul organises clothed and Naturist parties. I took the Naturist Opition which was brilliant. Highly recommend this tour and from experience hid other tours.

We had a tour in Andalucía and he was very knowledgeable on all places we went. He gave us so much time on each places and very kind to take some photos of us. The tour itself is very interesting specially about the Phoenician burials ama caves.

The bus was very comfortable with A/C & shared with other lovely companions. Our guide Paul was fantastic & so knowledgeable about the area & the sites we visited such as the Phoenician burial chambers , the cave dwellings & the Castle of the Marques de los Veles. Horse Riding in the Tabernas Desert

The Tabernas Desert is a beautifully haunting place, and the only desert in mainland Europe. One of the most enjoyable and natural ways to discover its secrets is by exploring its interior on horseback. This two-hour ride is designed for riders of all abilities, and takes us along the tracks and “ramblas”, or dry river valleys, into the very heart of the desert.
Along the way, we make regular stops to marvel at the stunning scenery, take photographs and listen to our professional guide's fascinating insights into the history, geology, fauna and flora of the area.
We will also hear about some of its rich and extensive movie background and visit some of the locations that were used in the filming of movies and series such as “Indiana Jones”, “Game of Thrones” and “The Crown”.

Meet-up location: Tabernas Desert (approximately one hour's drive from Vera - Mojácar and the surrounding area)
Meet-up time: Morning and afternoon / evening rides
Duration: Approximately two hours
What you'll need: Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear, a hat and sun cream for sun protection, and drinking water. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
