Travel from the Vera and Mojácar area into the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park for a relaxing excursion combining dramatic coastal scenery, local history and time beside the Mediterranean.
Admire Playa de los Muertos from a spectacular viewpoint, walk down to the beach and explore Mesa Roldán, home to an 1863 lighthouse and a historic defensive tower used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. The route continues to Carboneras and includes a final surprise stop before returning.

Lunch and refreshments in Carboneras are optional and are not included in the tour fee. Access to the beach involves a fairly steep, stony path of approximately 500 metres, taking around 10–15 minutes each way, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Playa de los Muertos and Carboneras
We head towards the iconic Playa de los Muertos, stopping first at a panoramic viewpoint with spectacular coastal views and excellent photo opportunities. We then continue to the beach, reached by a fairly steep, stony path of approximately 500 metres that takes around 10–15 minutes to walk.
Next, we travel up to Mesa Roldán, where an impressive lighthouse dating from 1863 stands beside a historic defensive tower used as a filming location for Game of Thrones.
We continue to Carboneras to experience the atmosphere of this traditional fishing village. You may choose to enjoy lunch or refreshments in a local restaurant (not included in the tour fee) before we return to your accommodation, with one final surprise stop along the way.
