Agua Amarga and Carboneras Tour in Pictures

Travel in a comfortable minivan from Vera - Mojácar and the surrounding area into the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park for a relaxing excursion combining dramatic coastal scenery, pretty villages and some local history.

Admire the Cabo de Gata Natural Park from Mesa de Roldán, home to a nineteenth-century lighthouse and a historic defensive tower used in the filming of a scene in Game of Thrones. Our guided tour takes us to the pretty villages of Agua Amarga and Carboneras, and includes a final surprise stop before returning to your accommodation.

An easy way to experience both coastal villages in one morning, without having to organise your own transport.

There may be an option for lunch and refreshments in Carboneras (not included in the tour fee) - please check with your tour guide. There is some walking involved on the tour, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

A fantastic chap to talk to. The route was easy going  a bit of climbing that much 75 year old body could cope with. At one point I thought I should have brought a machete but this was all part of the adventure. Paul organises clothed and Naturist parties. I took the Naturist Opition which was brilliant. Highly recommend this tour and from experience hid other tours.

We had a tour in Andalucía and he was very knowledgeable on all places we went. He gave us so much time on each places and very kind to take some photos of us. The tour itself is very interesting specially about the Phoenician burials ama caves.

The bus was very comfortable with A/C & shared with other lovely companions. Our guide Paul was fantastic & so knowledgeable about the area & the sites we visited such as the Phoenician burial chambers , the cave dwellings & the Castle of the Marques de los Veles. Agua Amarga and Carboneras Tour

We head for Mesa de Roldán, stopping on the way at a panoramic viewpoint with spectacular coastal views and excellent photo opportunities. We travel to the top of Mesa de Roldán, where there is an impressive lighthouse dating from the nineteenth century and a historic defensive tower that was used in the filming of Game of Thrones. From this vantage point, we also enjoy panoramic views down the coast and across the Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
Next, we continue to the pretty fishing village of Agua Amarga, where we explore the picturesque streets lined with white houses and the picture-perfect beachfront.
Afterwards, we make the short drive back to Carboneras to experience the atmosphere of this traditional fishing village and discover its castle and the cinematographic history of the village. You may choose to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (not included in the tour fee) before we return to your accommodation, but not before making one final surprise stop along the way.

Return time (without lunch): Approximately 2:00 pm
What you'll need: Comfortable clothing and footwear, a hat and sun cream for sun protection, and drinking water. There is some walking involved on this excursion, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
