Alfaix and the Sierra Cabrera in Pictures

Set out from the rural surroundings of Alfaix for an early-morning guided walk through the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera, one of eastern Almería’s most distinctive mountain landscapes.

Walk along a varied combination of country lanes, unpaved tracks and natural paths, enjoying views across rugged peaks, cultivated valleys, traditional terraces and the region’s characteristic ramblas.

Paul es un guía fabuloso y muy amable, con gran conocimiento de la historia y cultura local. Su recomendación del restaurante en Carboneras fué excelente, todos los platos exquisitos y un trato muy familiar. Para finalizar la visita Paul nos llevó a un paraje secreto y muy singular.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a lovely tour it was, Paul was very helpful and informative. Ae learnt so much about the areas we visited. The tour included a nice beach, then some history - visiting a lighthouse , castle and more. Followed by a lovely lunch on the beach. Finally the surprise he had for us was something I’d been wanting to see for ages.

Alfaix and the Sierra Cabrera

Begin in the peaceful countryside around Alfaix, where rolling hills rise towards the rugged peaks of the Sierra Cabrera. Follow quiet lanes and rural tracks while enjoying broad views across this beautiful corner of the Levante Almeriense.
The landscape combines traditional orchards, old agricultural terraces, dry-stone features and ramblas shaped by seasonal water. Along the way, discover how the greener slopes of Sierra Cabrera contrast with the surrounding semi-arid countryside and look out for the area’s varied Mediterranean flora.
This rewarding early-morning walk follows a mixture of surfaced lanes, unpaved tracks and natural paths. Some sections may be uneven or rocky, so a reasonable level of fitness, sturdy footwear and confidence walking on rural terrain are recommended.
